Special Halloween event day at the Army Flying Museum. Visitors were told to try and find mannequin-man, although sometimes he found them first!
I arrived at the Army Flying Museum about 8 am and was let in to the building by one of the security guards. I made my way to the office where I was going to get changed. I had brought two costumes with me, a black flightsuit and a hard wig and the other, an urban DPM camouflage jumpsuit with a matching cap.
It took about an hour and a half to get made up as I was going to be using a skin wig/bald cap, which takes a little longer to apply and then cover with liquid latex.
After I'd finished putting on the make up I put on the black flight suit and the brown hardwig and made my way down to the Scout helicopter where I was to based for the day.
Once I got into place I noticed that I wasn’t really standing out so I quickly nipped back to the office and changed into the DPM jumpsuit and took off the wig and just use the cap.
I made my way back to the Scout helicopter and sat in the pilot seat. At that moment I hear the heavens opening and starts to pour down, making a lot of noise as it pounds down on the museum roof; this makes me wonder whether or not people stay away today, it’s hard to tell, bad weather sometimes brings people out and sometimes it has the opposite effect.
I stay in the Scout for about 3/4 an hour and noticed that it’s not very busy so I decide to move around the museum standing in the corners, pretending to be mannequin at various points throughout the museum; this was getting some great responses as you can see from the video.
Although the day was a little quiet compared to normal days, it was a great success with the visitors as it always left them laughing.
