There may have been a slightly lower turnout this year at Hirex, but the consensus is many thousands who have braved the elements are serous buyers, And the orders are flooding in.
"Hirex is very important to us" said Ross Burnard of Clarke International. "We have been exhibiting here for eight years now. We always try to provide an interest on the stand and this year we have a human model. And of course we have our girls on the stand to hand out literature. they are always very popular!".

In a a show full of impressive stands, it is still impossible to miss the huge Makita stand. And this has undoubtedly helped the company achieve some startling sales figures. Makita tells us that orders taken on Tuesday actually doubled the amount taken on the first day last year.
Makita's Roger Broomhall was obviously delighted with the show and has no doubts that Makita would he asking even more of a splash at Hirex's 20th anniversary next year. when the show will be held a Wembley.
