Cormorant Scaring Mannequin Replaced For A Day With Living Mannequin Scarecrow

The angling trust have these scarecrow mannequins dotted around the country to simulate a human presence but the cormorants are clever birds and after a while, when they've deduced that there is no threat, they become acclimated to the mannequins and ignore them.

The goal here was to help make the cormorants wary of the human scarecrows again by replacing the existing cormorant mannequin scarecrow with a living scarecrow, dressed and made-up to look exactly like the original mannequin.

The living scarecrow mannequin stayed in character whilst being placed where the scarecrow used to be and stayed motionless. Then when a cormorant flew over, the living scarecrow would come to life and move, then freeze again.
